Day One

OK, technically, this isn't the first day of our IVF treatment. It's not even the first day of my cycle (for anyone who isn't well-versed in fertility lingo, cycle means 'monthlies' or 'lady problems', to use the medical terms. Heh). But while we were at the hospital today, giving blood for various screening tests, I decided to pop up to the clinic and just ask about the possibility of starting IVF this cycle, if all the tests are clear. And I was already on the list for starting in January - w00t! Or at least, something like w00t which conveys excitement, impatience, and extreme terror.

Anyway, I got a prescription for my meds, and most of the drugs are now safely stashed in my fridge. Thankfully, the progesterone pessaries don't need to be kept refrigerated, which is nice. And being a nosey sod, I opened the box of progresterone and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the pessaries - they're chick-pea sized, when I was expecting more of a baby sweetcorn. Or possibly a mange toute. Actually, I'd better stop that kind of imagery, I'm supposed to be going on a healthy eating plan, and that's quite off-putting.
